Appointments
Appointment time is reserved specifically for the client. Sessions are scheduled according to clinical need, payer requirements, and clinician availability. A standard individual psychotherapy appointment is commonly scheduled for approximately 53 to 60 minutes, but the actual length and service billed depend on the care provided and applicable billing rules.
Cancellation and missed appointments
New clients must provide at least 72 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule the initial appointment. Existing clients must provide at least 24 hours' notice. A late cancellation or missed appointment may result in a $100 fee when permitted by law and the applicable payer contract. This fee is not submitted to insurance. Exceptions may be made by the treating clinician for extraordinary circumstances but are not guaranteed.
Insurance, authorization, and assignment of benefits
Global Therapy participates with some health plans. Claim submission is a courtesy and is not a guarantee of payment. The client authorizes Global Therapy and its billing service to submit claims, obtain information needed to administer benefits, receive payment directly when permitted, and use or disclose health information necessary for treatment, payment, and health-care operations as permitted by law.
The client is responsible for providing accurate insurance information and promptly reporting changes. The client should understand deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, network rules, referral or authorization requirements, visit limits, and exclusions. Global Therapy will reasonably assist with benefit verification and authorization when the payer assigns that function to the provider, but quoted benefits are not a payment guarantee.
The client is responsible for copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, noncovered services knowingly received, and other amounts that may lawfully and contractually be billed to the client. The client will not be billed for amounts Global Therapy is prohibited from transferring to the client because of law, a payer contract, Global Therapy's failure to meet a required billing obligation, or another applicable restriction.
Payment method and authorization
A valid credit or debit card must ordinarily remain on file during treatment unless Global Therapy approves another written payment arrangement or an applicable law or payer rule requires otherwise. Through the secure payment system, the client authorizes charges for copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, self-pay fees, amounts assigned to the client after claim adjudication, applicable late-cancellation fees, agreed nonclinical fees, and other properly documented balances. Global Therapy will provide or make available a receipt or account record. Revoking card authorization does not eliminate a valid balance already incurred.
Standard fees
- Initial diagnostic evaluation: $300.
- Individual psychotherapy session: $275.
- Family or couples psychotherapy session: $260.
- Current standard self-pay psychotherapy session: $155.
A participating insurer's contracted allowed amount may differ from the standard charge. EAP services require authorization and are limited to the number and type of sessions approved. Clients will be informed of a material fee change before the new fee applies.
Additional professional and administrative fees
- Court-related preparation, consultation, record review, travel, deposition, or testimony: $500 per hour. Court appearance cannot be guaranteed. Necessary transportation and lodging for travel exceeding three hours are additional when agreed or legally recoverable.
- Workers' compensation or other nonroutine form completion: $20 per page when permitted and disclosed in advance.
- Unscheduled, nonemergency telephone consultation lasting more than 15 minutes: $10 for each 15-minute segment when agreed and not otherwise billed as a covered clinical service.
- Returned check: $40 to the extent permitted by law. A declined credit- or debit-card transaction does not by itself create a $40 returned-payment fee.
- Copies of health records: a reasonable, cost-based fee permitted by HIPAA and applicable state law. Global Therapy will provide an advance estimate when required.
Balances, payment arrangements, and collections
Balances are due when billed unless a written payment plan or other arrangement applies. A client experiencing financial hardship may ask about available arrangements. Excessive or unresolved balances may affect future scheduling after appropriate notice and consideration of clinical needs and continuity-of-care obligations.
If reasonable billing and collection efforts are unsuccessful, Global Therapy may use a collection agency or lawful legal process. Only information reasonably necessary for payment or collection will be disclosed, consistent with HIPAA and other applicable law. The client is responsible only for reasonable collection costs actually incurred and legally chargeable to the client.
Self-pay clients and Good Faith Estimates
Clients who are uninsured or who choose not to submit a claim may be entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges under federal law. A Good Faith Estimate is not consent to treatment and does not prevent changes in clinically necessary services.
