Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that focuses on the connection between a person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is based on the idea that negative thoughts and beliefs can lead to negative emotions and behaviors, and that by changing these thoughts and beliefs, a person can improve their emotional and behavioral outcomes.

Symptoms:

  • Do you experience negative thoughts and feelings such as anxiety, depression, or anger?

  • Do you engage in behaviors that are harmful to yourself or others?

  • Do you have difficulty coping with stress or difficult situations?

  • Do you have difficulty setting and achieving goals?

  • Do you have difficulty managing your emotions?

Causes: What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy:

  • CBT can be used to treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, and addiction.

Treatments:

  • CBT is a structured therapy that usually involves 12-20 sessions with a therapist.

  • The therapist will work with the client to identify negative thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors and help the client to challenge and change these thoughts and behaviors.

  • The therapist will also teach the client coping skills and strategies for managing stress and difficult situations.

  • The client will be given homework assignments, such as journaling or practicing new skills, to complete between sessions.

CBT is an evidence-based treatment for a variety of mental health conditions. At Global Therapy Inc., our experienced therapists are trained in CBT and can help individuals to improve their emotional and behavioral outcomes by changing their negative thoughts and beliefs.
