Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that focuses on the connection between a person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is based on the idea that negative thoughts and beliefs can lead to negative emotions and behaviors, and that by changing these thoughts and beliefs, a person can improve their emotional and behavioral outcomes.


Symptoms:

  • Do you experience negative thoughts and feelings such as anxiety, depression, or anger?

  • Do you engage in behaviors that are harmful to yourself or others?

Treatments:

  • CBT is a structured therapy that usually involves 12-20 sessions with a therapist.

  • The therapist will work with the client to identify negative thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors and help the client to challenge and change these thoughts and behaviors.

  • The therapist will also teach the client coping skills and strategies for managing stress and difficult situations.

  • The client will be given homework assignments, such as journaling or practicing new skills, to complete between sessions.
