Chained Door


Being codependent means that you feel overly responsible for someone else who can care for their own needs.  Generally, this helping, controlling, or rescuing is done at your own expense.

You don’t know what your need or want

Your self-esteem is attached to what you do for others rather than who you are

You have a difficult time setting boundaries

You get over-involved in relationships.  You are happy when your partner is happy.  When they are upset you feel the need to fix things.

Codependents give so much of themselves they expect others to do the same.  They feel great hurt when feelings and acts of kindness are not reciprocated.
